John Kerry - Republican ally?

We'll bet Republicans are jumping for joy right now because John Kerry has once again proven himself a reliable catalyst that gets out the base. All the worrying and hand wringing about the Republican Base being disinterested has been given one big knock in the head by a really dumb remark made by the hairy headed Senator from high tax heaven. Then, on top of the blunder, he comes out and makes it worse by going on the attack and not admitting his huge mistake. As one pundit said on TV today, he's playing to the radical left wing that will get him the Democrat nomination and apparently caring less about what happens next Tuesday. I wonder how many appearances for Democrat candidates will be cancelled over this next week?

Eminent Domain—Myth vs. Reality

EDITOR'S COMMENT: The following article (Eminent Domain - Myth vs. Reality) was sent to RiteOn.org by Steve Blechle, an expert on eminent domain, member of the Castle Coalition and recipient of the prestigious 2004 Castle Award.

After researching the most recent state legislation concerning Eminent Domain. With an election bearing down on us, politicians are mindful that the public wants legislation with some teeth in it to protect them for the "wrecking ball" of eminent domain abuse by local officials. The public did not get what it wanted out of the political leadership. The legislature has answered the need with a relatively worthless bill designed to make voters think they have "done something." RiteOn.org is of the opinion that the legislation provides only minor procedural mechanisms and it was enacted so politicians running for office could have a tool with which to persuade the uninformed. Our guess is that voters will resent being dealt with in such a shallow way. This legislation certainly won't persuade those who demand action that is meaningful and effective..... RiteOn.org

Fox News Shows the Mexican Border Out of Control

If circumstances on the Mexican border are anywhere near as bad as Fox News has depicted, then, as stated in their analysis, the border "situation" is totally out of control with drug gangs, illegal immigrants, seriously ill people and criminals coming into our country at will and by the thousands.

Border security will not be accomplished by anything Congress has in the works right now. A fence won't do it and neither will surveillance. The only way to stop the invasion is with a high tech mine field extending the full length of the border. That 's an ugly conclusion but it's the only one that will do the job and our security hangs in the balance.
