HOW MUCH IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION COSTING YOU?

This web site tells us exactly how much illegal immigration is costing U.S. taxpayers. Take a look....

http://immigrationcounters.com/

In addition, here are two views about immigration from famous Americans:

Alexander Hamilton opposed granting citizenship immediately to new immigrants: "To admit foreigners indiscriminately to the rights of citizens, the moment they foot in our country would be nothing less than to admit the Grecian horse into the citadel of our liberty and sovereignty." Instead, he recommended that we gradually draw newcomers into American life, "to enable aliens to get rid of foreign and acquire American attachments; to learn the principles and imbibe the spirit of our government; and to admit of a philosophy, at least, of their feeling a real interest in our affairs."

Theodore Roosevelt wrote: "In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birth place, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here."

THE EUROPEANS LEFT IT TO US... AS USUAL

Some of you may find this too "tedious" or lengthy for casual reading. For this we apologize. However, we feel the stakes in the Middle East are so critical to the future of the U.S. that we have bypassed our normal tendency to publish "easy reading" and, somewhat hesitantly, provide this material FYI.
----
Wilsonian No More: Mugged by Reality: Part III by Thomas Sowell (Forwarded by CA Contributor WH)

If nothing else comes out of the Iraq war, it should banish the concept of "nation-building" from our language and our minds.

"The track record of nation-building and Wilsonian grandiosity ought to give anyone pause," as was said in this column before the Iraq war began.(We would argue that the decisions that created the nations "carved out of" the Ottoman Empire after WW I were decisions where the U.S. view was given only lip service. These were British and French decisions where the last gasps of support for colonial empire survived. The U.S. was deliberately ignored* ... Ed)

We can now add the track record of Iraq to the list of disasters.

The very existence of Iraq is a result of Woodrow Wilson's grandiose ideas about "the right of self-determination of peoples," which led to the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire by the victorious allied powers after the First World War.

AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS....AGAIN!

Amnesty Senators have snuck an amnesty bill back onto
the Senate floor and a crucial vote will take place this week.

Sen. Dick Durbin is attaching the so-called "Dream Act"
to the Defense Appropriations Bill.

We're calling the Dream Act the "Nightmare Amnesty Act."
Here's why:http://www.grassfire.org

--The Dream Act gives amnesty to any illegal alien
claiming to have arrived in the U.S. prior to age 16.

--Any illegal alien can apply, no matter the current age. So
if a 35 year old illegal can make a claim to have been in
the U.S. prior to age 16, he can apply.

--Those who get amnesty through the Dream Act can then
sponsor family members. It creates million of "anchor
teens" who create a direct amnesty path for their family.

--Illegal aliens who apply cannot be deported.

--Plus, the bill allows illegals to get in-state tuition rates,
meaning your tax dollars will pay for illegals to go to
       college!

The Dream Act is truly a nightmare.

GREENSPAN VERIFIES RITEON.ORG

In former Fed Chief Alan Greenspan's new book, "The Age Of Turbulence: Adventures In A New World" (due to be published tomorrow), he points out that the Iraq war is largely about OIL!

That isn't "NEWS" to readers of RiteOn.org.

In his new book, Greenspan states, "I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil."

In our Sept. 1 web blog we wrote, "Clearly... U.S. Middle East policy has been and is all about oil, as we have stated on numerous occasions in the past....."

We have said this often... and we're saying it again: IT IS ABOUT OIL AND THERE IS NO SHAME IN GOING TO WAR TO PROTECT VITAL ASSETS!

Are we so stupid that we will commit economic suicide over what amounts to "political inconvenience?" ...

THE TRASHING OF GENERAL PATRAEUS

Here are some excerpts from an article forwarded to us by RiteOn.org Contributor DS of St Charles County, MO, entitled “Trashing Patreaus”... Here’s the link to the article for those who would like to read it in its entirety.

(article excerpts)
“... Members of the Democratic leadership and their supporters have now normalized the practice of accusing their opponents of lying. If other members of the Democratic Party don't move quickly to repudiate this turn, the ability of the U.S. political system to function will be impaired in a way no one would wish for.

..."Betrayal," as every military officer knows,...

GINGRICH HAS IT RIGHT

Newt Gingrich is trying to wake up America and it's time to listen carefully. We believe it's important to hear what he has to say.

(from a former Marine Major and 747 pilot in Phoenix, AZ)

I can only hope that I am half as brave, half as fit, and half as alert and determined as the man in this story.........

71-year-old retired Marine, the 2nd Amendment & the right to carry

"Police investigate the scene The 71-year-old retired Marine who opened fire on two robbers at a Plantation sub shop late Wednesday, killing one and critically wounding the other. He is described as a former pilot for two presidents. John Lovell. He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he works out everyday.'' Lovell was a man of action Wednesday night According to Plantation police, two masked gunmen came into the Subway at 1949 N. Pine Rd. just after 11 p.m. There was a lone diner, Lovell, who was finishing his meal. After robbing the cashier, the two men attempted to shove Lovell into a bathroom and rob him as well. They got his money. But then Lovell pulled his handgun, opened fire, shooting one of the thieves in the head and chest and the other in the head.

When police arrived, they found...

BACK TO THE SAME OLD GAME IN ST PETERS

Note to nationwide subscribers: As you know by now, we occasionally comment on local matters and the following commentary is primarily intended to be read by residents of St Charles County, MO and particularly by those who live in St Peters, Missouri.
***********
The candidates for Alderman and the method that will be used to select one of them to fill the vacancy created by Bruce Holt's departure appeared in a press release issued by the City of St Peters on Aug. 27. At the end of the press release it stated, "The next step in the process will be candidate interviews with the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen during an EXECUTIVE SESSION..."

We object to the use of EXECUTIVE SESSION to select a candidate to hold a political position, elected or appointed! We are not suggesting the need for active public involvement in the session but we certainly see a need for those who want to observe the questions and answers to be able to do so. The individual selected will make decisions that could likely impose lasting consequences on the residents of St Peters. Questions and answers should be open to the public and the process should not be conducted in a closed session. In our opinion, this is simply another violation in a long line of violations where politicians in St Peters have decided to disregard the interests of their citizens. Mr Pagano was supported by many who thought he would lean toward open government but, now that he is in office, except for lip service, that appears to be a promise without substance.

In conversation with Mayor Pagano, he indicated ...

OIL = U.S. MIDDLE EAST POLICY

Clearly... U.S. Middle East policy has been and is all about oil, as we have stated on numerous occasions in the past..... Current problems have arisen because when the most recent strategy was formed nobody had the guts to say what it was all about because the lawyers, accountants and PR political strategists in Washington thought it looked "greedy" and "imperialistic."

We have leaders in Congress and elsewhere who know what America's long term strategies are but their opportunistic approach to politics makes it "troublesome" for them to get the explanation past liberal opportunists who are looking for something outrageous to attract attention to themselves....
