GEORGE SOROS MAY RUN THE COUNTRY

Any excuse at all that we can find to disqualify an elitist socialist phony like Barack Obama from gaining the Presidency of the U.S. is one we’re going to take! Hillary is not much better but she IS a cut above Obama. We don’t want George Soros running the country and a plethora of political appointees enacting policies that dismantle our national defense and military research.

This guy Obama, if he is elected, will have the power to destroy both the country and the culture as we know it. In our opinion, his 20 years of being tutored under radical extremists in Chicago plus all of the obvious, trivial or not, indications of his mistaken beliefs are of great consequence to our well being and our ability to maintain our traditional culture and a decent standard of living. We may be forced to surrender our security and economic stability by a large number of spoiled brat fools who think a smooth talker who beckons them with a crooked finger every time he speaks is “cool,” but we won’t go easily!

THE HARRY TRUMAN KIND OF POLITICIAN

Well...you can’t help but long for the Harry Truman kind of politician again.

When President Truman retired from office in 1952, his income was substantially a U.S. Army pension reported to have been $13,507.72 a year.  Congress, noting that he was paying for his stamps and personally licking them, granted him an ‘allowance’ and, later, a retroactive pension of $25,000 per year.

When offered corporate positions at large salaries, he declined, stating, ‘You don’t want me. You want the office of the president, and that doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the American people and it’s not for sale.’ Even later, on May 6, 1971, when Congress was preparing to award him the Medal of Honor on his 87th birthday, he refused to accept it, writing, ‘I don’t consider that I have done anything which should be the reason for any award, Congressional or otherwise.’

We now see that the Clintons have found a new level of success in cashing in on the presidency, resulting in untold wealth. Today, many in Congress also have found a way to become quite wealthy while enjoying the fruits of their offices. Political offices are now for sale.

Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, ‘My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. And to tell the truth, I find there’s hardly any difference.

RULES MATTER? WELL, ONLY IN CERTAIN CASES!

All of a sudden the Democrat Party is taking the position that rules matter! In the case of whether or not to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates at the Democrat National convention, the Obama camp, along with its sympathizers on the Democrat National Committee is sticking to the argument that there should be a penalty for breaking the rules.

We wonder why that principle doesn’t apply to their multitudes of liberal supporters and sympathizers in organizations like the ACLU who argue almost daily in the courts that penalties should not be levied against those who break the rules of society. Its a big no-no to break the party’s rules when it comes to politics but when it comes to inflicting rule breakers on non-politician citizens of the country we are supposed to “give in” and “understand.”

'Trouble at the border? I had no idea!'

(From GOP USA)
Posted By Bobby Eberle On May 23, 2008 at 6:03 am

In another case of politicians not having a clue what's really going on in this country, an interesting exchange took place in Washington this week. Three Democrat legislators spoke to reporters about what they claim is "anti-immigrant coverage" by conservative media outlets. Apparently, they think floods of illegal aliens crossing into America and the crime and violence at the border are just overblown incidents developed by conservatives to attack our neighbor to the South.

After they spoke, the Democrats were asked if they realized that the State Department had issued a "travel alert warning Americans about military-like 'combat' along the southern U.S. border in Mexico, where Americans are being kidnapped and murdered." None of the legislators knew about it.

As reported by Cybercast News Service, when asked about the alert, Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) said, "I haven't heard about the report specifically."

Reps. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) and Hilda Solis (D-CA) also spoke to Cybercast News Service and said "they had no knowledge of the travel alert but were aware of the volatility along the U.S. southern border."

Volatility?  Americans are being killed and yet all these liberals want to do is pander! The State Department alert states that "violent criminal activity fueled by a war between criminal organizations struggling for control of the lucrative narcotics trade continues along the U.S.-Mexico border." Although the alert states that the attacks are primarily aimed at "members of drug trafficking organizations, Mexican police forces, criminal justice officials, and journalists," the alert goes on to state that "foreign visitors and residents, including Americans, have been among the victims of homicides and kidnappings in the border region."

Armed robberies and carjackings, apparently unconnected to the narcotics-related violence, have increased in Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez. Dozens of U.S. citizens were kidnapped and/or murdered in Tijuana in 2007. Public shootouts have occurred during daylight hours near shopping areas.

Criminals are armed with a wide array of sophisticated weapons. In some cases, assailants have worn full or partial police or military uniforms and have used vehicles that resemble police vehicles.

Side note:  In the California area where Rep. Duncan Hunter had a border fence built, crime and drug activity went DOWN!

In the Cybercast News Service interview, Rep. Solis expressed her concern about "the murder of women" but added, "I'm more concerned about people having their civil rights violated here." More concerned about the civil rights of law-breaking illegal aliens than Americans being the targets of violence and murder? Just exactly what country do you represent?

According to Cybercast News Service, "Speakers at the briefing said that CNN and Fox News Channel should be held accountable for television personalities who have 'played major roles in creating this anti-immigrant hysteria.'" Let's send that message to the Americans who are victims of border violence... I'm sure they'll find comfort in it.

AMONG REPUBLICANS, DON'T BLAME THE TOP AS MUCH AS THE BOTTOM

Richard A. Viguerie, publisher of ConservativeHQ.com and the pioneer of political direct mail wants the leadership of the Republican Party to leave... Now, before it’s too late.

Though we have repeatedly called for changes in leadership in the Republican Party, we don’t necessarily agree with Viguerie on where in the hierarchy the purge should begin. In viewing what has happened since the decline of conservative influence, especially in the area of local tax policy, we believe changes should occur from the bottom up and not necessarily, as Viquerie recommends, from the top down. Though some changes are definitely in order Republicans should take care to avoid throwing the baby out with the bathwater!

All indications are that, barring a major change in direction, the political toll that will be taken on Republicans at the top, after the November elections, will be gut wrenching. However, we should understand that national leaders are well-heeled professionals and therefore less impacted and more “responsive” to which way the wind is blowing. After a solid defeat they are more able to see the “handwriting on the wall” than are local and state leaders. Local political leaders, time and again, will risk stiffing the voters in order to, as quietly as possible, protect their special interest supporters! (That said we shouldn’t disregard the fact that some are simply fools being used!) In the past, slick and expensive campaign brochures have distracted inattentive voters and allowed many politicians to get their pockets full before the electorate could catch up with them... that’s exactly what has happened!

Take the case of a former politician who resigned his job in the Legislature at around $32,000 a year to take a job with private industry at more than $100,000 plus lots of “bennies.” In our view, this former office holder turned out to be a representative of special interests and when he left, he and/or his “special interest” supporters arranged for a replacement with a similar mindset.

This sort of practice does not serve the interest of the Party or its supporters for so many reasons we don’t have room to list them! Yet Party leaders not only support this kind of activity, they generate it! They apparently believe that voters don’t see or understand what they are doing. Well, the reckoning is on its way! The trouble is the grass roots supporters of the Party are the ones who will pay!

Conservative voters see that local taxes have skyrocketed under Republican local and County leadership. We all thought that because these people salute the flag, go to church and talk like conservatives that they WERE conservatives! Wrong! We need to wake up and see what’s actually happening. What a reward for Republican loyalty! This is happening all over the country and is what has turned off grass roots Republicans. There is truth in the observation that “all politics is local” and that’s why we believe that increases in local taxes throughout the country are the “silent culprit.”

Republican political hacks say, “Where else are conservative voters going to go? Certainly not to the Democrats!” Well, where they are going to go is to not volunteer, not give money and STAY HOME on election day and that spells defeat, big time, for Republican candidates.

Important national issues have certainly played a part in loss of popularity among the grass roots Republicans. Issues such as protecting the border, the falling value of the dollar and high gas prices have obviously been poorly handled. That said, the Bush administration has reduced taxes nationally, protected the country from another terrorist attack and, despite early mistakes, had the guts to defend our interests in the Middle East. This is far better than the cut-and-run and high tax mentality of the liberal interests who control the Democrat Party.

We, therefore, would start the purge at the bottom, beginning with the Republican County Central Committees and the State Party organizations. We believe this is where the Republican Party has gone the farthest astray and why grass roots Republicans are disgusted with the leadership of their Party.

A WHISPER OF REASON IN THE TUMULT OF THE STORM

This is a good read!
-----------
An Old Newness By Thomas Sowell Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Many years ago, a great hitter named Paul Waner was nearing the end of his long career. He entered a ballgame with 2,999 hits—one hit away from the landmark total of 3,000, which so many hitters want to reach, but which relatively few actually do reach.

Waner hit a ball that the fielder did not handle cleanly but the official scorer called it a hit, making it Waner’s 3,000th. Paul Waner then sent word to the official scorer that he did not want that questionable hit to be the one that put him over the top.

The official scorer reversed himself and called it an error. Later Paul Waner got a clean hit for number 3,000.

What reminded me of this is the great fervor that many seem to feel over the prospect of the first black President of the United States.

No doubt it is only a matter of time before there is a black president, just as it was only a matter of time before Paul Waner got his 3,000th hit. The issue is whether we want to reach that landmark so badly that we are willing to overlook how questionably that landmark is reached.

Paul Waner had too much pride to accept a scratch hit. Choosing a President of the United States is a lot more momentous than a baseball record. We the voters need to have far more concern about who we put in that office that holds the destiny of a nation and of generations yet unborn.

There is no reason why someone as arrogant, foolishly clever and ultimately dangerous as Barack Obama should become president—especially not at a time when the threat of international terrorists with nuclear weapons looms over 300 million Americans. (please continue reading...)

WHY REPUBLICANS MAY LOSE BIG IN THE COMING THE ELECTIONS

It's time for some "straight talk" about how the Republican Party is organized. This commentary will address the lack of skill in basic communications.

There are too many Republican activists holding positions of power in the Party who still believe in using worthless and obsolete techniques in the conduct of their political activities. Conservatives have a tendency to dislike change but that attitude is dangerous and leads to failure in our present political environment! Also, many "activists" are there simply by virtue of reward for their "substantial" donations, without regard for essential skills. Because of poor or non-existent skills in the use of the Internet, those who have a casual view of communications block the flow of information thereby slowing down decision-making and lessening the chance of success.

If people really want to help their Party's cause, they should do some "self-analysis" and raise their communications skill level to that required by today's political environment or do the "right thing" and step aside. Quickly running out to buy a computer and having your kid send off a token email for you to show you are "with it" just won't cut it either. What is required is a commitment to acquire proper equipment and software and a dedication to learn and use the techniques that will increase widespread use of Internet communications among people.

The presence of individuals without modern communications skills on important committees and in important functions is now far too detrimental to tolerate. It is inappropriate and counterproductive to place people with poor communications skills in positions where they can, simply by their presence, exert influence that slows action, stops communications and, thereby, blocks the Party from gaining a majority.

One of many examples is that here in Missouri we have many State Committee members and members of lesser committees who have nothing but a "cosmetic" knowledge of Internet communications. They have near contempt for the use of email and have little regard for information located on web sites. These days, this is the kind of "volunteer" who loses elections. Communications is "where it's at" and there are far fewer Republicans than Democrats, particularly the liberal variety, who use the Internet to communicate.

At this point, (and probably long before) considering the times and what the Party is up against in the coming election, there is NO EXCUSE for electing any individual to any position if they cannot exercise a minimum of skill in Internet communications. Liberal nerds and their fellow travelers in the Democrat Party have claimed the Internet and are using it with great skill to spread their views and raise big money. To boot, the news media, with few exceptions, is stacked up solidly against Republicans. These are big problems that become even bigger when they aren't recognized! If the Republican Party goes down so will conservatives! The GOP and its supporters, especially those at the grass roots level, must cease their long time habit of ignoring the Internet and Internet communications.

CITY OF ST PETERS, MISSOURI FIASCO

COMMENTARY:

Adolphus Busch and many of his friends should be considered heroes for trying to protect the City of St Peters taxpayer community from the folly of some of its elected leaders. Busch and others have, on numerous occasions in the past, at considerable expense to themselves, warned the City regarding the lack of merit of the Premier 370 (Lakeside) project. Mayor Pagano, according to a recent Journal letter from Mr Busch, sought to seek 41 million dollars from Great Rivers and the County, apparently to bail the City out of “questionable” policies perpetuated by St Peters officials and their advisors, past and present!

Mayor Pagano and his allies on the Board of Aldermen have, according to the Busch letter, voted to deny their citizens participation in the traditional August tax holiday, giving as a reason the City’s heavy legal expenses in defending the Premier 370 lawsuit. In this case the City has been reversed by a Kansas City judge and, according to Mayor Pagano, has spent $300,000 of taxpayer money on that! Further significant legal expense has been incurred as a result of a guilty verdict and a million dollar plus award to a citizen in an unrelated matter. It would appear that hard-earned taxpayer money is literally flying out of the City treasury at breakneck speed. It looks, at this point, like millions more is slated to go down the tubes.

Taxpayers should be outraged and should demand accountability. With this sort of political leadership both elected and appointed in St Peters, it looks like the “lawyers full employment act” is in full swing and the Missouri Sunshine Laws have been buried! Mayor Pagano and his “buddies” are obviously “in” over their heads.

YARD SALES?

As you may have heard, each of us will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China .
If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If we purchase a computer it will go to India .
If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Honduras , and Guatemala .
If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan .
If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America .
The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at Yard Sales, since those are the only businesses left owned by Americans !
