JOE THE PLUMBER SAYS DEMOCRATS DESPERATE Missouri Democratic Party Blowing Hot Air in FEC Complaint
The Missouri Democratic Party has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission about the television ad "Joe the Plumber" (Joe Wurzelbacher) and Friends are running in support of State Senator Chuck Purgason for the US Senate.
In response to the complaint, Joe said, "I think the Democrat Party needs to go back and read all those regulations they've passed over the years. They've overlooked at least a few of them. I checked with the FEC before, during, and after the ad was produced. The Missouri Democratic Party really is into intimidation tactics and making sure that they control the speech in this country. As long as there is free speech, I'm going to call these people out."
The ad, produced and paid for by "Joe the Plumber and Friends", began to air throughout Missouri on Monday, July 26th for the August 3rd primary. It does not address the Democratic Party or their favored candidate. Joe laughingly surmises, "It so obvious the Democrats are threatened by honest Americans. It's so much easier to win against the moderates who misrepresent their records."
The Democratic Party is asking the FEC to enjoin Joe the Plumber from any further ads for Purgason. When asked his thoughts on potential enjoining constraints, Joe replied, "I had the FEC on speed dial for the entire project. Every "i" was dotted, and every "t" was crossed. There is nothing to enjoin." Joe added, "I've obviously backed the right candidate if the Democrats are pulling stuff like this 4 days before the elections."
