Will the U.S., Plundered by Radical Liberal Fiscal Policies, End Up Like Greece? Our Culture is Being Moved in That Direction! ----------------------------- Excerpt From "Beware of Greeks Bearing Bonds" by Michael Lewis "In
just the past decade the wage bill of the Greek public sector has
doubled, in real terms -- and that number doesn't take into account the
bribes collected by public officials. The average government job pays
almost three times the average private-sector job. The national railroad
has annual revenues of 100 million euros against an annual wage bill of
400 million, plus 300 million euros in other expenses. The average
state railroad employee earns 65,000 euros a year. Twenty years ago a
successful businessman turned minister of finance named Stefanos Manos
pointed out that it would be cheaper to put all Greece's rail passengers
into taxicabs: it's still true. ... The Greek public-school system is
the site of breathtaking inefficiency: one of the lowest-ranked systems
in Europe, it nonetheless employs four times as many teachers per pupil
as the highest-ranked, Finland's. ... The retirement age for Greek jobs
classified as "arduous" is as early as 55 for men and 50 for women. As
this is also the moment when the state begins to shovel out generous
pensions, more than 600 Greek professions somehow managed to get
themselves classified as arduous: hairdressers, radio announcers,
waiters, musicians, and on and on and on. The Greek public health-care
system spends far more on supplies than the European average -- and it
is not uncommon, several Greeks tell me, to see nurses and doctors
leaving the job with their arms filled with paper towels and diapers and
whatever else they can plunder from the supply closets." *************************** |

This is why there are no jobs in America (Forwarded to RiteOn by Guest Editor MH) ----------------------------- By Porter Stansberry August 24, 2010 I'd like to make you a business offer. Seriously. This is a real offer. In fact, you really can't turn me down, as you'll come to understand in a moment... Here's the deal. You're going to start a business or expand the one you've got now. It doesn't really matter what you do or what you're going to do. I'll partner with you no matter what business you're in - as long as it's legal. But I can't give you any capital - you have to come up with that on your own. I won't give you any labor - that's definitely up to you. What I will do, however, is demand you follow all sorts of rules about what products and services you can offer, how much (and how often) you pay your employees, and where and when you're allowed to operate your business. That's my role in the affair: to tell you what to do. Now in return for my rules, I'm going to take roughly half of whatever you make in the business each year. Half seems fair, doesn't it? I think so. Of course, that's half of your profits. You're also going to have to pay me about 12 percent of whatever you decide to pay your employees because you've got to cover my expenses for promulgating all of the rules about who you can employ, when, where, and how. Come on, you're my partner. It's only "fair." Now ... after you've put your hard-earned savings at risk to start this business, and after you've worked hard at it for a few decades (paying me my 50 percent or a bit more along the way each year), you might decide you'd like to cash out - to finally live the good life. Whether or not this is "fair" - some people never can afford to retire - is a different argument. As your partner, I'm happy for you to sell whenever you'd like ... because our agreement says, if you sell, you have to pay me an additional 20 percent of whatever the capitalized value of the business is at that time. I know, I know. You put up all the original capital. You took all the risks. You put in all of the labor. That's all true. But I've done my part, too. I've collected 50 percent of the profits each year. And I've always come up with more rules for you to follow each year. Therefore, I deserve another, final 20 percent slice of the business. Oh ... and one more thing. Even after you've sold the business and paid all of my fees, I'd recommend buying lots of life insurance. You see, even after you've been retired for years, when you die, you'll have to pay me 50 percent of whatever your estate is worth. After all, I've got lots of partners and not all of them are as successful as you and your family. We don't think it's "fair" for your kids to have such a big advantage. But if you buy enough life insurance, you can finance this expense for your children. All in all, if you're a very successful entrepreneur, if you're one of the rare, lucky, and hard-working people who can create a new company, employ lots of people, and satisfy the public, you'll end up paying me more than 75 percent of your income over your life. Thanks so much. I'm sure you'll think my offer is reasonable and happily partner with me, but it doesn't really matter how you feel about it because if you ever try to stiff me - or cheat me on any of my fees or rules - I'll break down your door in the middle of the night, threaten you and your family with heavy, automatic weapons, and throw you in jail. That's how civil society is supposed to work, right? This is Amerika, isn't it? That's the offer Amerika gives its entrepreneurs. And the idiots in Washington wonder why there are no new jobs. --------------------------------- Porter

Are Government Workers Being "Used" by their Own Leaders and the Radical Liberals in Congress? by Chuck MacNab Government workers at all levels are waking up to reality. In order to get control of government and gain support of the unions and public sector employees the radical liberals in Congress (in fact throughout the entire country) have supported unrealistic pay raises, pension benefits and all sorts of goodies for those who work at all levels of government. Who would dare vote against raising the pay and benefits of fire fighters, police, and all who were so brave in responding to the 9-11 emergency... no matter if they were in the Fresno Fire Dept or had never had to respond to a fire in a county a thousand miles or more away from NY City. The media images portrayed of those who were called upon to act in an emergency all but guaranteed passage of benefits packages that were far better than most in private industry could obtain. Besides, the unions could be counted on for big contributions and lots of doorbell ringers and phone bank volunteers during an election campaign. Mistakenly, it looked like the benefits packages were possible to sustain in an ever expanding economy. The liberal politicians in both political parties found that obligating the taxpayer to pay government workers big benefits was a great way to get re-elected because so many citizens gained benefits from government money. There was hardly a suggestion from anyone but the most conservative (depicted as greedy) in the private sector that this outrageous profligacy should be curtailed. Well, guess what? Most politicians didn't figure that hard times would ever come back but the liberals were way out in front of most politicians, certainly the "moderate" Republican ones. So, the more socialist leaning among the liberals helped "engineer" a fiscal crisis in the housing industry that they hoped would lead to electing a socialist President and create enough chaos, panic and confusion to pass legislation that would allow them to gain complete control of the economy. Their wildest dreams were realized by the election of 2008.Now, with the election of 2010 nearly upon us, they nearly have it. Just one more key election and their fondest wishes are "in the bag." They just need to keep their confused supporters "on board" long enough to squeak through their control of Congress in November. The Tea Party People are the flies in the ointment but will they be well enough organized to gain the kind of majority that will be needed in both houses of Congress to thwart the liberal's plans? That's the BIG question. When the radical liberals feel confident enough and don't fear overthrow of their policies, they will begin to renege on all those promises they made to the suckers that don't, and aren't ever likely, to figure it out. (The "suckers" may surprise them!) Once they are faced with reality they will always take back what they knew was built on a house of cards and was merely a gambit to gain absolute power. The master planners among their leadership have known all along that this would be the case! Once they have the total control they want, they MUST make adjustments to deal with reality or they will lose control. This is where they trash their former supporters and throw them under the bus (where the rest of us already are.) While obligations should be kept to those who have earned their benefits, government workers are going to find out the hard way that they should never have relied on liberal promises that were never intended to be kept and that those promises depend on fiscal responsibility. What's in it for the radical liberals? The big prize is a society that looks strikingly like a modern form of feudalism where the elites are at the top and everyone else is a serf!.. Chuck ![]() ********************************** Are state pension plan fixes breaking retirement promises? Here are some excerpts from an article by Nilus Mattive, located at: http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/ ... Less than half of state retirement systems had enough assets to pay even 80 percent of the benefits they've already promised! According to Bloomberg, the state's plan currently ranks number 11 on the list of most underfunded pension systems. And as you might recall from [a] previous article, recent estimates have said New Jersey's plan will run out of money in 2019 ... IF the state manages to get an annual investment return of eight percent! With a lower return, the fund may last only five more years. That's why, last week, Governor Chris Christie announced his latest proposal to reform the state's public pension and health care system.Despite what you may have heard, this isn't the last of market volatility - and it's not likely to end for months, if not years, to come.New Jersey has already reduced benefits for new state hires, but Governor Christie's latest proposal is far more dramatic. Some of the measures he's suggesting: Raise the state's retirement age to 65, and allow early retirement after 30 years of service vs. 25 currently Ask teachers and government workers to kick in 30 percent of their health insurance costs from about eight percent now - with the increases stepping up over a four-year period And halt cost-of-living adjustments for current retirees until the state can afford to pay them Personally, I wonder if a 7.5 percent annual return is still too aggressive given today's investing climate and how conservatively a pension fund should be invested. But regardless of where you stand on each of the proposed moves, they prove that even CURRENT retirees' benefits aren't necessarily guaranteed in these crazy times. Consider the Pension Court Battle Happening in Minnesota Right Now ...... In the meantime, Minnesota retirees are left with quotes like the following, from the state's Assistant Attorney General Rita Coyle DeMueles ... Arguing that Minnesota has the right to modify benefits being paid to pensioners, she said, "There is no contract here, express or implied." Many of the folks who thought their retirement benefits were guaranteed may be surprised to hear that! Moreover, all of these state pension woes and attempted clawbacks make me wonder whether we will soon be hearing the same debate at the national level - over our entire Social Security system. Already, there are indications that lawmakers are working behind the scenes to close off certain options that are currently available to retirees! And can anyone say that Social Security is any more fundamentally sound than these state pensions? Or that its promises are any more guaranteed? Scary stuff, indeed. *************************** |

Satire by The Manitoba Herald as reported by Clive Runnels,September 11, 2010 Forwarded to RiteOn by Texas Guest Editor RS ----------------- The
flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has
intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to
stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are
prompting an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be
required to hunt, pray, and to agree with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck. Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and A.P. reporters crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota . "The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?" In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The liberals still got through and Rush annoyed the cows so much that they wouldn't give any milk." Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves. "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though." When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races. In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half- dozen young vegans in powdered wig disguises,Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior-citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said. Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art-history majors does one country need?" In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada , Vice President Biden met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that the administration would take steps to reassure liberals. A source close to President Obama said, "We're going to have some Paul McCartney and Peter, Paul & Mary concerts. And we might even put some endangered species on postage stamps. The President is determined to reach out," he said. |

FBI stats on AZ, NM and CA Forwarded to RiteOn by AZ Guest Editor CP ----------------- Guest
Editor comment: After reading this just think Obummer is doing
everything he can to legalize these illegal's for votes and never mind
the consequences. With all the negative reports being printed in the
news media here are
the statistics they fail to report. The numbers don't lie, and these
are the official numbers that are usually reported lower than they
really are. ----- ARIZONA, NEW MEXICO & CALIFORNIA FBI STATISTICS... WHY THEY NEED THE NEW LAW Well folks, here are the numbers. The following information is compiled from Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security reports: * 83% of warrants for murder in Phoenix are for illegal aliens. * 86% of warrants for murder in Albuquerque are for illegal aliens. * 75% of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Albuquerque are illegal aliens. * 24.9% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals. * 40.1% of all inmates in Arizona detention centers are Mexican nationals. * 48.2% of all inmates in New Mexico detention centers are Mexican nationals. * 29% (630,000) convicted illegal alien felons fill our State and Federal prisons at a cost of $1.6 billion annually. * 53% plus of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens. * 50% plus of all gang members in Los Angeles are illegal aliens. * 71% plus of all apprehended cars stolen in 2005 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California were stolen by Illegal aliens or "transport coyotes". * 47% of cited/stopped drivers in California have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle.. Of that 47%, 92% are illegal aliens. * 63% of cited/stopped drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 63%, 97% are illegal aliens * 66% of cited/stopped drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66% 98% are illegal aliens. * 380,000 plus "anchor babies" were born in the US to illegal alien parents in just one year, making 380,000 babies automatically US citizens (which is UN-Constitutional; illegal). * 97.2% of all costs incurred from those illegal births were paid by the American taxpayers. And remember YOU are supporting ALL of these illegals no matter where they are now. Every time another illegal runs the border breaking our laws, your pocket just gets lighter! "The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." - Thomas Jefferson ----------------------- www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/1738432/posts ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE

National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Has Temper Tantrum Over Rino Defeat by Chuck MacNab ----------------- According
to an email message received this morning from the Tea Party Express,
the NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) is refusing to back Conservative Republican Christine O'Donnell who won the Delaware Senate nomination yesterday "fair and square."
According to information provided in this email the NRSC announced
their decision while Ms. O'Donnell was making her victory speech after
winning the Republican Primary. We ask, exactly just how dumb this is? This important committee of the Republican Party looks like it is announcing that it does not care, in fact will SABOTAGE the election in November, if it cannot dictate who the candidates will be. Tea Party people backed Christine O'Donnell and apparently Washington Republican insiders do not like this. This is exactly what the Tea Party people have been pointing out about the Republican Party and why most Tea Party people do not consider themselves to be Republicans (or Democrats either.) Tea Party people will support most Republican candidates in the November elections; however the Republican Party can "blow it" (again) and lose their chance for a majority in the House if they don't cease and desist the sort of activities demonstrated by the NRSC in the Christine O'Donnell case. Sarah Palin knows where it's at! She knows what independents want in government and is supporting Christine O'Donnell and a host of other Republican primary candidates who are either leading or winning in the majority of their races against RINO Republicans. The powers that be in the Republican Party had better "wise up," change their approach to the Tea Party people and publicly reverse the NRSC statement or they will, once again, find a lot of independents not voting in November. In Missouri, Roy Blunt, Senate candidate, attended most of the major Tea Party events over this past weekend and received an enthusiastic welcome. He, apparently, "gets it." |

Statement on the Proposed "Cordoba House" Mosque near Ground Zero (Forwarded to RiteOn by MO Guest Editor WM) ---------- Newt Gingrich July 21, 2010 6pm There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia . The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over. The proposed "Cordoba House" overlooking the World Trade Center site - where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks - is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites. For example, most of them don't understand that "Cordoba House" is a deliberately insulting term. It refers to Cordoba , Spain - the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world's third-largest mosque complex. Today, some of the Mosque's backers insist this term is being used to "symbolize interfaith cooperation" when, in fact, every Islamist in the world recognizes Cordoba as a symbol of Islamic conquest. It is a sign of their contempt for Americans and their confidence in our historic ignorance that they would deliberately insult us this way. Those Islamists and their apologists who argue for "religious toleration" are arrogantly dishonest. They ignore the fact that more than 100 mosques already exist in New York City . Meanwhile, there are no churches or synagogues in all of Saudi Arabia . In fact no Christian or Jew can even enter Mecca .. And they lecture us about tolerance. If the people behind the Cordoba House were serious about religious toleration, they would be imploring the Saudis, as fellow Muslims, to immediately open up Mecca to all and immediately announce their intention to allow non-Muslim houses of worship in the Kingdom. They should be asked by the news media if they would be willing to lead such a campaign. We have not been able to rebuild the World Trade Center in nine years. Now we are being told a 13 story, $100 million megamosque will be built within a year overlooking the site of the most devastating surprise attack in American history. Finally where is the money coming from? The people behind the Cordoba House refuse to reveal all their funding sources. America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive designed to undermine and destroy our civilization. Sadly, too many of our elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could. No mosque. No self deception. No surrender. The time to take a stand is now - at this site on this issue. If, after reading this, you agree with it, please pass it on to others. This is the most clearly stated, sensible, and historically accurate statement that I've read on this issue (and I've read a lot of them). Why can't we have a President as intelligent, educated, and patriotic as this former Speaker of the House? ------------------------------- PLEASE
