MISSOURI SHOULD BUILD 4 NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS...NOW! GOING "GREEN" will redirect and accelerate the cost of living toward the poverty level for all but the few, like Al Gore, who are well connected and who will make a fortune trading in carbon credits. Customers received the following message in a 2010 newsletter published by a Missouri Electric Cooperative:
The "increases" referred to above will drive average folks to the wall! The elitists on Park Avenue in New York and in DC, who throw the parties for politicians, could care less. It's just another issue Du Jour that's currently fashionable and keeps them shining bright in the social whirl by spending money from the trust fund they inherited from daddy, grandad or a deceased husband. I wonder if their views would change if they were suddenly bagged up in a Burqa, beaten every day and were treated like cattle!
Just about everyone can see the handwriting on the wall but liberal politicians still insist on feeding the mythology by setting up an energy disaster composed of high prices, rationing, wasteful investment and foolish legislation. The "politcally correct" may insist on going down this road but the people of Missouri and the U.S. should, and can, avoid economic ruin by insisting that their state and national elected officials discard the current blocking of energy development and adopt common sense legislative planning.
Right now, to lessen the impact of current energy foolishness coming out of the Obama Administration, our short term planning should embrace energy exploration and development, BIG TIME. Restrictions on drilling "everywhere" should be removed and investment incentives should remain in place. MISSOURI SHOULD MOUNT A SAFETY ORIENTED CRASH PROGRAM TO BUILD AS MANY NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN AS SHORT A TIME AS POSSIBLE. Missouri could use 4 of them and would eventually be in a position to sell power to the rest of the country at an advantage to Missouri residents. If the rest of the country wants to follow foolish energy planning, so be it. Missouri leaders, however, should see this and take advantage of it. This alone would provide enough low cost power to guarantee that Missourians would not run out of energy.
The money and time being wasted on developing high cost "green" energy needs to be put on the back burner...now. Missouri's power needs lie in the direction of natural gas and clean coal over the short term and nuclear power over the long term. We apologize to the rabid environmental nut cases. We suggest you go back to your elitist cocktail parties with the realization that most of what you advocate will decimate living standards for ordinary folks and is just plain stupid.
If politicans do not get off the "politcally correct" bandwagon then we warn them, primarily the liberal Democrats, that voters will put the blame squarely on their backs for the unprecedented economic disaster that is bound to develop. They will be blamed for high prices and rationing of gasoline and heating fuel. Problems in the Middle East are not going to cover up the Obama Administration's war on common sense energy development and any politician that wants to jump into that hole should be aware that public tolerance of such massive blunders in government are not rewarded at the polls! November 2010 was just a warning shot across the bow.... the next one will be a direct hit on the magazine! The public will feel it, will know it and will react at the polls... as they should! |
