Libya Could Send A "Message"
By Chuck MacNab
First off, let us say that to announce that we would not use boots on the ground in Libya and will turn over command and control to a "committee" of people who don't even speak the same language is militarily insane! Muammar Kaddafi got a free ride with that one! Such a statement is an example of the "dream mentality" of a leader that has NO military experience, where every decision is political and where he still sides with the Pinko crowd.
Being forced by circumstances to use military resources is a far cry from being someone who respects and understands what he is being told about military matters. Let's hope and pray he does not assume he is a military genius and starts running strategy by himself, down to the foxhole level!
That said, if the United States got its foreign policy act together (and all of a sudden a light went on), dispatching Libya in short order in consort with a dependable alliance of Arab and European allies, might send a message to the nutcase leaders of Iran that they might be looked at in a similar way.
After all, the Mullahs did engage in willful brutality against their own people and, regardless of what they say, nobody with half a brain believes that they aren't close to developing a nuclear weapon. Talk about putting the world's energy resources in jeopardy! The Iranian pipsqueak and his Mullah bosses make Libya's leader look like a common schoolyard bully.
