WILL DEMOCRAT SCARE TACTICS WORK? By Chuck MacNab Whenever the liberals REALLY want something....they try to scare the public into submission. They raise visions of horrifying circumstances and add terms like "unprecedented," "historically damaging" and all that we have heard from their surrogates in the liberal controlled media over past weeks. The squealing, along with the variety of scare tactics gushing from Democrats, leads us to believe that Trump is right when he says to the Republicans, "You have won... so don't cave." (Paraphrased from News reports yesterday.) Analysis of the situation is simple. The liberal Democrats want, at almost ANY public cost, to keep big government and lots of high paid government workers (votes). As a result they are scaring everyone from college students with tuition problems to Granny who depends on Social Security and Medicare (and all the relatives who may have to support Granny if her entitlements are cut). The problem, by the way, is not with the Grannies and Grandpa's who EARNED their "entitlements"... it is with the millions of "freeloaders" who DIDN'T contribute anything (or very little) to what politicians have given them because politicians in both Parties kept buying their votes with free handouts! We have a bit of a problem with the term "entitlements" anyway. The media (and others) have given the term a bad name. After all, when you work for a paycheck, meet your commitments or risk your money and labor in an investment aren't you "entitled" to compensation? What's that but an "entitlement." As we have said over and over, it's in the interest of liberals to "blend" the earned reward and the un-earned freebie into one term..."entitlements." That way the term can be translated by the liberal media to ensure that the public looks at all "entitlements" the same way. That confuses right from wrong. Confusion is what masks the way politicians get votes. Look at the language of just about any piece of legislation. Can you understand it? Our case is made! Unfortunately, the "dark side" has been very successful in using this technique of "interpretation!" Shame on us for being too lazy to stop this and for buying into it! Maybe the public has had enough. We will see by how the current debt ceiling negotiations turn out and most certainly by the 2012 elections. Let's not lose sight of the fact that the ultimate "fix" will come with the 2012 elections. The bottom line on the debt service negotiation is this: Republicans should NOT raise the debt ceiling and should demand that all of the favorite big government, unnecessary programs and agencies should be trimmed or eliminated so that income can cover outgo. If justice prevails and discipline is exercised there will be more than enough funding to compensate soldiers, seniors and others who have EARNED their entitlements!
The cutting and eliminations can begin with the Education Department, the Energy Department, the IRS, the Dept.of Homeland Security, all but 2 of Michelle Obama's "staff" (and hairdressers), sell off the government's "fleet" of aircraft that are used for personal transportation of politicians, lobbyists and bigwigs and a WHOLE LOT MORE. Literally, the money for THOUSANDS of programs can be eliminated over night. Stop the millions slated to be spent on a Mosque in Cairo, Egypt, the wholesale dumping of food and "convenience items" out of airplanes over Africa (and the rest of the world) and hundreds of other money spewing activities carried on by U.S. agencies all over the world..... including many here in the U.S. Yes, the media will fill their front pages and editorial columns with sobbing mothers on vacation who cannot, temporarily, access an area funded by government money. The public will have to put up with TV images of blubbering, angry tourists "blaming" Republicans (Actually politicians are pointing the hairy finger at Tea Party members NOW!) because they may not have access for a few days to common services like parks, national monuments and recreational areas. Most of these "sobbers" will be carefully picked Democrats or government employees. We will all have to endure the whining on TV such as, "I only have two weeks of vacation and my children are suffering (and might become Communists) because they can't have full time access to national monuments." Republicans were victims of a well coordinated PR campaign back in the 90's when the Democrats were able to blame them and they weren't smart enough to counter the strategy. As a result, the Republicans are scared stiff now. Let's hope they listen to the experienced negotiator, Donald Trump, and don't fold! |
